Hi Winners, I want you to have a controlled splurge with each goal you meet.
Why do you feel exhausted when trying to get ahead in your finances?
It could be because you are putting in so much hard work and don’t feel like you are being rewarded for your tireless efforts.
Well that’s about to change!
Yes I want you to win at money but there is no point having an exceptional bank account but being miserable at the same time.
I want you to win at money but ultimately I want you to be happy. Winning at money in just a small part of being happy.
I am not going to lie money is a great motivator for me. With each purchase I make or bill I pay I ask myself how will this spend affect my financial independence?
You CAN still win at money and have a controlled splurge at the same time.
Here are my 3 rules for having a control splurge –
- You must budget for the controlled splurge and the controlled splurge must not result in debt
- Controlled splurge only when you meet a tracked financial goal
- The controlled splurge must reward all people that achieved the financial goal
Those of you who are one of the 380 money magnets that follow me on twitter would have read that my family and I had a controlled splurge last weekend.
For a family of 5 this was not cheap but it was well worth it. It gave us a short break and taught the kids the lesson that if you put in the hard work, you get rewarded.
How much you spend on a controlled splurge will depend on your individual financial situation. You be the judge on how much you think that you should spend. Make sure that it is a joint discussion between you and your partner.
At this stage in life my wife and I are so focused on paying our home off early that we do tend to go without a lot of the time. No we are not living like beggars. There are things we want but we know that we want financial freedom more and we are both willing to make sacrifices for them.
We know that the putting in the hard yards now will pay off ten fold in the future.
Every now and then we allow ourselves to have a controlled splurge and I think you should too.
Win at money with me,
